Is social media making that big of an impact on us? Well it all depends on many adult views on it. Many believe that social media had made a grand impact on Millennials both good and bad. Social media can be good with education and communication, but it could be bad too by providing a distraction for us young people and provide a lot of cyber bullying for others.

To begin, social media could be a good thing by helping you connect with new friends and love ones. It shows that just because they’re far away that they can’t know what's going on in others lives and find a way to get help with any type of work. As primarily said in the ProCon packet,” Almost 60 percent of students who use social networking talk about education topics online and, surprisingly, more than 50 percent talk specifically about schoolwork...” This sentence tells how many students have actually use social media to benefit in education and with kids understanding what’s being taught the higher grades the students will receive on worksheets and test.

This is the main complaint most teachers and parents have with children today. For example, in Coppinger’s work she tells that we’re “basically showing off to our friends.” Which is the most likely reason to be distracted by it. We all like to share what fun things we experience or tell our friends when we’re bored, but we’re so distracted trying to get a good shot of it to show it that were not really enjoying
