There can be many days in someone’s life, were one day can change their lives. Sometimes these days are tragic, like a horrific car accident or they can be a positive change, like being at the right place at the right time, and meeting your soulmate. This for me is one of those days that positively changed my life.

Pulling into Del Taco, all of us kids got excited because there was a playground. After ordering our food, we all sat outside in the warm sun, so we could play in the playground. Steven her youngest boy said, “Tag, your it,” as he touched my arm and ran into the maze. I raced after the boys in. We played for hours until our parents said it was time to go. I knew then that I liked this family, and over the years we have bonded into a family that is just as strong as the family you are born with. I cherish all of my time I get to spend with them and the past 20 years that we have shared. To this day I remember the first time we meant like it was yesterday. I am very blessed to have this be one of the days that changed my

Eleven years, four months, eight days, and thirteen hours. That is the day and time when my unspoiled life changed. The adults walked together , chatting away as they picked up intriguing rocks and fossilized pieces of wood or took pictures of the land around them. Us children raced up and down the rocky hills making as much noise as we pleased, seeing as there was no one else around to complain. Soon enough the older of my two cousins, Caleb, came across a large trench cutting through the land. Naturally, being children we had rather short attention spans, and were getting tired of just running around on hills. We immediately wanted to climb down and explore the trench, and the adults, seeing that the trench was wide enough for three of them to walk chest to chest comfortably in and no taller than my younger cousin Audrey’s chest, decided to humor us.…
