America is considered a great country, but if racism continues in the country; it could lead to the second civil war. Racism against Asian and Hispanic should also not be overlooked. Everyone should come together protest and support for each other’s equality, freedom and rights. Racism is an issue and if it is overlooked or ignored, it could lead to the destruction of

Let me start off by saying that I’ve never thought about the concept of what exactly race is, but with the material that we have gone over in class and the comments made by other students I've realize there are many different idea of what races mean to each individual, but for me I view race through the lens of biological genetics. I’ll start off with philosophical and biological definition of race. The concept of race has historically signified the division of humanity into a small number of groups based upon five criteria: (1) Races reflect some type of biological foundation, be it Aristotelian essences or modern genes; (2) This biological foundation generates discrete racial groupings, such that all and only all members of one race…

In today’s society which we call the United States of America there may be many predictions, speculations, and myths that have been thought of when it comes to our history. I have analyzed and did my own research on the history of racism. Racism is the belief of people of each race, who acts as if one is superior to another race. There are several prejudice practices practiced by racial individuals which discriminates against people of other race and due to their skin color. I watched four movies such as Birth of a Nation, Beloved, 13th, and Do the Right Thing which tells us where racism comes from, and how it is has changed over the years.…

Race is a social construction created by White European men because there is no biological evidence to support the idea that one race is superior to another, therefore, giving them permission to dominate all non-Europeans and as a result improving their economic stance. There is not one clear definition of race. It exists as a social construction that was later adapted by many cultures in order to survive and thrive in what is present day America. Soya Jung defines race as an idea created by white men that classifies people into categories in order to justify contradicting ideas of freedom and slavery. Jung elaborates by saying that despite there being no scientific proof that race exists, men have created the idea of race and categorized…

Race, as defined by the Oxford Dictionary, is “...divisions of humankind, having distinct physical characteristics” which establishes race as a label dependent of our physical appearance. However, with a glimpse throughout the history of our planet, racial labels are a clearly a concept created by European settlers who wanted to differentiate themselves from the natives of the lands they invaded (Omi and Winant 1). Creation is power; to be the creator of a divider of humanity gives one absolute control over its impact and influence. However, race is a concept blindly created out of desperation for a barrier. While at the time of its creation, race was a blatant factor to separated white people and people of color, race as a contemporary label…
