A Race is defined as a group of people united or classified together on the basis of common history, nationality, or geographic distribution. (thefreedictionary) The word race derived from the late old northern English word “ras” which meant current. The idea of races has existed centuries ago, but it was not obvious until the 19th century in which racial division in America had been systematically made. Social Darwinism was an idea of Darwin 's Theory of Evolution in which they used Natural selection and survival of the fittest to establish the division of the race. This theory began racism, “a product of the complex interaction in a given society of a race-based worldview with prejudice, stereotyping, and discrimination.” ( Wikipedia) in the United States. There has been some improvement in America on racism, but it does not justify the fact that racism should not even exist in the first place. There are some pros and cons of Racism like bringing all races together to protest against an Issue. On the other hand, Racism has brought destruction and hatred. America is considered a great country, but if racism continues in the country; it could lead to the second civil war. That is if the people of the country do not feel like they are getting the justice they need or hatred between the race has increased. Social Darwinism should not be the reason to destroy a Great country just because the other race feels superior to the other. That mentality should be demolished from each race. Racism against Asian and Hispanic should also not be overlooked. Everyone should come together protest and support for each other’s equality, freedom and rights.
