Science is defined as the intellectual and practical activity encompassing the systematic study of the structure and behavior of the physical and natural world through observation and experiment. If we took the time and broke down this one definition of science we would see that it talks about behavior in a physical and natural world through observation and experiment just as when we are taught about psychology we learn experiments have been done to test theories. Psychology is defined as the scientific study of the human mind and its functions, especially those affecting behavior in a given context. Right there in the definition is the word scientific so I believe that right there is proof enough that psychology is a science. Through many years of research philosophers have came up with theories that are the roots of psychology, proven with data and established methods, studies in present day are being done using the scientific method to find out even more about the brain and behaviors in humans and there are psych hospitals that involve medicine and controlled treatment which is all scientific because it has been tested at one point or another. `Over time psychologists have done studies that produced facts, data and established methods that we still use today. Psychology is a fairly new science, most advances happening in the past 150 years. However, some things can be tracked all the way back to ancient Greece (OOOOOOOO.)
