Is Poverty A Big Problem

The definition of poverty is the state or condition of having little or no money, goods, or means of support; condition of being poor. The reason poverty is an issue is because it affects society as a whole. One of the reasons it affects society is because if you live in poverty then there is a big chance you may be homeless. If you are homeless and unemployed you may resort to crime in order to survive. Which if you are homeless with no job at all this would lead to an increase in crime for that reason. The next thing that can happen with poverty is malnutrition. If you live in poverty then there is a high chance that you may not be able to buy foods with the nutrition that you need. Since they most likely didn’t get an education they won’t be able to find a job. Which would effect a country from having a stronger economic system. With the large amount of people that can’t get a job, the labor force suffers from that because they can’t contribute to the economic development. These are five big reasons on why poverty is such a big issue. The well being of people doesn’t only have to deal with things but it has to deal with people as well. Poverty is something that can hurt you, not by the physical things, but by the emotional things for example feeling ignored, excluded, and ashamed.
