Yes, I think plagiarism is inherently wrong. Avoiding plagiarism in educational and professional settings is necessary and not an arbitrary standard. Plagiarism is defined in the lesson as literary theft, or using someone else’s work without the proper citations. Taking something that is not yours is stealing. Using something as your own without doing the work of due diligence to extend credit is dishonest at best. Even if the plagiarism is unintentional, it leaves everyone cheated.

Plagiarism cheats the original author, the student, teacher, and fellow students. The student loses out on learning concepts needed to succeed in their field of study and career. If the teacher misses the plagiarism and grades the work, they could face disciplinary
