Is Our Life Changing To The Bahamas

Decent Essays
On July 18, 2013 our lives changed forever. We were on a Cruise, heading towards the Bahamas, when we sat down for dinner. We Started off with a nice tender steak that was so tender that we could cut it with my spoon. Then our waiter brought out heaven on a plate. On this plate was a chocolate cake that was as moist as a damp rag. Inside the cake was chocolate fudge that was so warm it was like molten lava inside of a volcano. It was served with a delicious scoop of French vanilla that was the color of a golden toasted marshmallow. The wonderful clash of the heat of the cake and the cool of the ice cream was like fire and ice. That is what we believe made every bite heaven on

The original recipe included basic ingredients such as milk, eggs, and butter. Nevertheless, the need for a longer shelf life forced the company to use ingredients like bleached wheat flour, sugar from sugar cane, and sugar beets. The sugar not only tastes great but it has another purpose too. Sugar crystals hold air to make the cake lighter, and it makes the cake tender.…

From 1492-1750, the Atlantic world experienced many social and economic transformations due to new global contacts, such as the emergence of the triangular trade route, the expansion of religion, and the creation of a caste system in New Spain. One of the most important changes during this time period was the establishment and use of a triangular trade route that ran between the Americas, Europe, and Africa. As the Europeans received tobacco and cotton as the first cash crops from the Americas, slaves were sent from Africa in return to run the agricultural plantations, while Europe provided manufactured goods, rum, and textiles to Africa. This level of worldwide interaction was unprecedented and created a more global economy where products…

Initially, Spain and Portugal wanted to dominate the trading economy. When Columbus discovered the West Indies and Bahamas, a new world of opportunities was shown to Europeans. The Spanish arrived and immediately started to torture the Natives, purposely and accidentally. The Native Americans were not accustomed to the new settlers way of life, or the factors that they brought with them, such as disease. If a Spanish settler wanted to seize control over an Indian village he could easily do so without having to exert much force due to the fact that Europeans brought disease with them from the Old World.…

There are many delicious flavors of ice cream, but only one that specifically describes me, chocolate chip cookie dough. When you open me up, I look like regular, sweet, vanilla ice cream, but as you scoop deeper, you find sugary, melting chunks of cookie dough. Each clump is different from the last, some small and some large, but each contains different events or pieces of my life within. The biggest with the most chocolate chips contain items I find most important such as my trip to Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo when I was able to pet stingrays on stingray island or the time I applied for a leadership position and became one of the officers within my high school's theater department. However, the spoonfuls vary, some are delightful tidbits from…

For my first birthday my mom made me a white cake with chocolate frosting. There were pink sprinkles laced along the edge and a prominently placed “1” candle in the middle. What I do remember about my birthday is asking my mom to make me a different kind of cake every year. I could never pick a favorite; there were far too many cakes to pick from.…
