As Christians, we know that the information we have about Jesus is indeed reliable. However, can we prove that the information is reliable through presentable evidence? Of course we can, we just need to look at the provided evidence at all angles. The New Testament is one of the most historically accurate documentations every discovered. There are thousands of original manuscripts of the New Testament that date back to the early second century. The accuracy of the New Testament is about 99.9%, proving that the New Testament is very accurate. Compared to other historical documentations such as the Illiad, the New Testament has more original manuscripts and a greater accuracy than these historical documents which are in fact considered accurate. …show more content…
Over the past years, archaeology has discovered many locations and places that corroborate with those locations and places of the Bible. Locations like the Pool of Bethesda, Pool of Siloam, the relocation of Jerusalem, and Jacob’s Well. Archaeology has also helped reveal and solve many puzzles that were brought to light by many skeptics. One of the puzzles was the existence of Nazareth. Archaeologists have revealed many key pieces of evidence that prove the existence of Nazareth. A relocating list with the city of Nazareth on it has proved the existence of this city. All evidence found has also concluded that Nazareth was indeed a small town of a small population, just as said in the Bible. Therefore, archaeology has also been able to corroborate and provide evidence for the reliability of Jesus. When you place all of this evidence together, you can easily see that the information that we have about Jesus is indeed reliable. Historical writers like Josephus and Pliny have provided statements that not only prove the existence of Jesus, but also the fact that Jesus was considered “the Messiah” and “the Christ.” Archaeology has discovered places and locations that are also found in the Bible.
