The media portrays African Americans as violent, angry, uneducated, as well as mentally unstable. Even the programs we see on television portray black people as terrible people, and us as viewers don’t make it better, because most people watch then react. Some people do exactly what they see, contributing to what the media shows us as. The media shows these small, developing countries as being very poor, starved out, and always at war. In all actuality, the small, “poor” countries are growing just as fast as being perceived not to be. Some of these countries hold some of the riches resources ever created by earth. The reporters ignore an important aspect of the story, and viewers are misled and further confused on global and local information. News stations and networks mislead the public by portraying countries and people in a light of negativity, putting stereotypes on them. Ways to stop the media bias of today’s new is to gather all information. News should be well put together and state facts about set topic. Finding reliable sources shall make the story better and less dramafied for viewers.
