This is where Macbeth's rapid downfall occurs. Macbeth's world comes crashing down when he finds out everything he ever built and put into place, was about to all come crashing down around him. Macbeth is left defenseless when he realizes that the recent prophecies that would protect him, were quite the opposite. Macbeth does not cower in fear, he instead accepts his fate and to the remainder of people left in the castle, he hesitantly bellows "Ring the alarum bell! Blow wind, come wrack; At least we'll die with harness on our back." (V, v, 50-51). Macbeth ended up with a surrounded castle, by the forces of Malcolm and Macduff. Macbeth is encountered by Macduff, but though he is not totally afraid, Macbeth roughly is aware of what is to happen to himself. Macbeth is ready to go on the offensive as Macduff to Macbeth, is not of woman born. Macduff in rage and anger divulges that "Tell thee, Macduff was from his mother's womb untimely ripp'd1" (V, viii, 15-16). Macbeth has reached a conclusion that his fate was to be sealed right then and there on the battleground. Recognition is ultimately shown when Macbeth opens his eyes for the first time in the play and when his tyranny is brought to and end with a swift blow from Macduff. Though Macbeth felt safer with more people dead, the more guiltiness he felt, which would soon lead to his corruption. Macbeth craved and craved more power, and in his mind the only way to achieve power, was through killing anyone who stood in his way. The more people who were slain to the hand of Macbeth, the more people who caught on to what Macbeth was actually doing, perceiving him as a disease and nothing but a tyrant. Macbeth can be considered a tragic hero, but Macbeth and only Macbeth, brought himself to this conclusion. Macbeth lead himself to his own fate when he became to careless and reckless with the actions he made, bringing only pain and suffering to him and the small number of people he cared for, and bringing out rage and revenge to all the individuals around him that he had
