Humans need social experience to learn their culture and to survive. Socialization, the lifelong social experience by which people develop their human potential and learn culture, is the basis of the prior specified statement. The influence on society plays a grave importance on all that an individual says, does, and thinks. Although there are many positive aspects to society and the role it plays on the lives of individuals there are also many negative aspects.
In life there are various social groups one can belong to. Depending on which group an individual may choose to affiliate with, they could potentially be setting themselves up to be prejudged due to the group being labeled. Labeling is a way for society to perceive the impossible complexity of the environment. The most common labeling types seen today are by race, gender, sexual orientation, and personal characteristics such as smart or funny.

The explosion of Facebook although convenient for finding lost friends is also a breeding ground for cyber bullying. Cyberbullying is when a person bullies someone through electronic technology.
