Is Kobe Bryant Better Than Jordan Analysis

I choose the article “Is Kobe Bryant Actually Better Than Michael Jordan?” by Ethan S. This article is mainly about who the better shooting guard is, Michael Jordan or Kobe Bryant. With this article the author doesn’t use straight statistics to determine who the better player is. He creates a total of fourteen categories. These categories are all aspects of the basketball game but aren’t measured by stats more like character.
The goal of this essay is to give the reader a view of both players outside of complete statistics. However Ethan S does point out some statistics in specific areas. The author states that Jordan held the advantage in three areas and Kobe had the advantage in five. He goes on and says that just because Kobe held the lead in five categories doesn’t mean he’s the better player. The author then goes on to say “The pedestal that Jordan stands on is not quite as high as some people would like to believe.” He then mentions “It’s amazing what good marketing could do, as Nike, Gatorade, and the NBA marketing machines built Jordan up to unimaginable heights.” The author thinks that the better player is Michael Jordan but if anyone was to catch up to him Kobe Bryant would be the one. The article talks about both players and gives fourteen specific categories that they’re analyzed in. Out of the fourteen categories Michael Jordan had the edge in three and, Kobe Bryant had the edge in five different ones. The author thinks that neither player had the edge in six areas. The author mentions how Kobe had more of an advantage but that doesn’t make him a better player than Jordan. The author believes that if anyone will soon become better or have the same legacy as Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant will do
