Dictionary.com defines the word honorable as “In accordance with or characterized by principles of honor; upright” and defines the word corrupt as, “Guilty of dishonest practices, as bribery; lacking integrity; crooked”. Both of these qualities are found in characters in the play The Tragedy of Julius Caesar by Shakespeare. I believe that Mark Antony is the most honorable character in the play. I also believe that Cassius is the most corrupt character in the play. I believe that Mark Antony had several qualities of honor. A few examples of how he was honorable include how he displayed loyalty to Caesar, and how he was good with his words. Antony displayed loyalty by listening to Caesar. If Caesar asked for something to be done, it was indeed done. Antony was very good with words in reason being that he could use words to persuade people to believe one thing instead of believing another. Mark Antony put a show on that got the conspirators to believe that he was on their side even though he was just showing how words can be used for good in the mouth of someone with the right power. Also, I believe that Anthony is good with words is how in his speech he got the people to start wondering, is Brutus honorable? Is he the person we actually want to be in power? For example, he got a group of people to join a conspiracy against Julius Caesar. Cassius believed that Caesar was getting too much power, so he decided that he was going to stop him from getting too much power before he ruined Rome. Another reason that Cassius was corrupt was treason. He betrayed their country by killing Caesar. If one was to speak of killing someone of higher power, they were thrown in jail. Cassius committed murder, which also ties into treason because not only did he talk of killing Caesar, he killed Caesar in front of the people of
