Is Johnny A Hero

To me a hero is a person who risked their lives or everything they to save someone or something. In my opinion, Johnny was the biggest hero in the novel The Outsiders, by S.E Hinton. Johnny was abused at home and then got jumped but that never stopped him from saving those little kids in the burning church. As the boys were on their way back to the church from Dairy Queen they saw that the church was up in flames, so they ran in to help little kids that were trapped. This just shows that how courageous Johnny is to save some little kids that he had never even met before. Johnny was told by Dally not to go into the church because was afraid Johnny was going to get hurt, he was the only person Dall has ever loved. As both Johnny and Ponyboy were
