Love can be between two people in platonic or non-platonic relation. Love can be a strong endearment. Love can be between friends and family where there is acceptance of imperfection. When you love someone the two participates feels whole and are secure enough in their relationship that they can plan for the future. Infatuation is always between two romantically involved people. Infatuation is really puppy love; it’s young and gets excited easily and doesn’t last long. During infatuation there is an insecurity that makes everything is immediate because you’re worried about losing the other person; they cannot plan for the future because that takes too much time and the relationship can fall apart by then. Love is also a dynamic relationship, meaning that as the two participates grow and mature and change the relationship does as well, while infatuation is a static relationship. In a static relationship the two participates will change and mature but the connection doesn’t therefore the relationship will fall apart because the two have outgrown each other. Reading the definitions of love and infatuation, I concluded that the feelings that Romeo and Juliet felt toward each other were purely infatuation. Romeo and Juliet is a story about “love” and what two people are willing to sacrifice for it. Shakespeare says the play was about love but after reading the definitions of each, infatuation is way closer to what Romeo and Juliet actually feel towards each other. The definition of infatuation is an intense but short-lived passion or admiration for someone or something. Love proves to be different with its definition being, knowledge of each other, not of the flesh but through the flesh, knowledge of self, the real him, the real her, the mask slipped from the face.…
