Some people don’t like censorship because they want to know what’s happening with the societies all over the world; however, others do like censorship because they don’t really want their people to know what’s happening within their country’s problems. Censorship is restricting access to books, internets, or movies. Censorship can go beyond that and restrict access for some societies. The government decides what the population should know. That’s an extreme example of censorship. It is imperative to censorship because parents, school, and government officials wish to protect and shelter innocent people from harmful ideas.

Like its’ famous Great Wall of China, the name for the internet censorship was called “Great Firewall of China” which was coined by the Wire, an American magazine in 1997. Imagine a Chinese person sitting in the front of computer which is behind the Great Wall, seeing nothing on the screen. The Communist Party of China achieved some in sifting keywords out of internet searches and obstructing access to selected web pages such as Facebook, Google, and Wikipedia from the everyday users. The English languages websites for the New York Times and the Washington Post were hindered in that country as well. Two years ago, in the advance of the 25th anniversary of the Tiananmen Square massacre, Chinese government cracked down on media outlets and search engine tools, obstructing access to Google and other websites. It was part of the Chinese authorities coordinated attempt to restrict knowledge on the pro-democratic movement that ended in massacre. That was a censorship of a media coverage of the event, including a man standing in a white shirt and black pants, holding a shopping bag in the front of a military tank. Some parents use a device, for example, TVGuardian which will mute foul language from TV shows or movies. This could affect some children to think of a way to use their friends’ computer to see what things they aren’t supposed to know. Because parents don’t want their children to behave badly, they censor their exposure to undesirable materials which may not be age
