Why do people’s stories matter? Why is it important to know people’s stories? People‘s stories matter because their stories tell who they are and what type of person they are, and it tells people how different things can affect one’s story. It is important to know someone’s story because their story can influence people and could give people a different perspective. I am that person who tries their best to work hard in school, to be polite, and to be helpful. I am a nice, helpful, and respectful person because of the experiences/practices my parents had throughout their lives.

Whenever someone was sick, in trouble, or just needed some support, my grandmother would always try to be there like she was a momma bear caring for her cubs. But since she couldn’t always be there in person, she created Little Eddie. Little Eddie is a small teddy bear that has been passed from family member to family member, depending on who needed him the most at the time. “Little Eddie is small enough to be mailed, so he is able to reach any family member in need within a few days” (Hudson, Dax). When that person no longer needs Little Eddie, they send it to the next person who needs him. Although Little Eddie is just a toy, he helps my family stay close. Watching my family send Little Eddie move around has made me understand how important it is to help/care for family.

Stories bond us. Sooner or later, every story must be told. Storytelling can heal the storyteller and enrich the listener, as well as every untold story will scream its existence through our desires, actions, and dreams. From the very beginning of the novel, Xavier, "the second to last in a long line of Windigo killers" (65) and Elijah, who “lives for what the day will bring” (52) are conflicted as a responsibility-driven man versus desire-driven man.…

I am currently looking out the window to the bustling street and every single person I am seeing has a story of their own, has a family story that I could never begin to imagine. I have no way of knowing the way family may have shaped a person’s life, but everyone’s family will affect the way in which they perceive the world. Because of this, no one person perceives the world in the same manner. Since we all have different perceptions, none of us can completely understand how someone else sees the world. This is not to say that we can never at least begin to understand the point of views of others.…

By telling Stories, you objectify your own experience. You separate it from yourself. You pin down certain truths. You make up others. You start sometimes with an incident that truly happened, like the night in the shit field, and you carry it forward by inventing incidents that did not in fact occur but that nonetheless help to clarify and explain."…

Walking into the GoBe, I had no idea what to expect, except that it would probably be along the lines of a career seminar, helping you determine your personal goals, values, and future. I was partly right in my assumptions. The "GoBe" did indeed help me identify my goals, values, and what direction I'm traveling in, but on a more personal than professional basis. We (the students) were given flashcards in five different colors, and each color had a total of six cards in the stack. So six blue, six red, and so on until color number five.…

Hi Peeps, Today's Quote "It is important to talk about the stories that matter in your life so that your children's children may benefit from wisdom, with the limited amount of time we have left on this earth." ! Jon Barnes Of Old I now see why Bible stories, studies, prayer, and service is so important to learn and share, because they are needed in our daily lives thinking, working, negotiating, and practicing good deeds in our lives. Stop blaming the churches for your personal failure and lack of interest in God. Blame yourself and your pride for walking away from God, like Adam and Eve. Your excuses and explanations are merely lies of old.…

Through the life story, I can get to know that how people will react in the same situation. Like how people study in their childhood, how people fall in love, how they treat their friends and family. These experiences can broaden my horizon and let me know that I still have a lot of things to study. If people refuse to understand other’s life story, I will be locked in my own world, without knowing anything that happened in the outside world. People will become more and more selfish cause they only care about what they did.…

Joe Leaming, an old friend who had owned Porsches, lived in Tucson and while there, I show him my new Porsche and saw his gray 356C Cabriolet. Joe knew more about Porsches than anyone, and he related that Porsche just released the new 6-cylinder 911. That intrigued me because the 356 was short on power and had significant vibrations. He told me about the oversteer problem, but that wasn’t of concern since I didn’t push cars to their limits. I enjoyed seeing him and was interested in the 911. Overall, the Tucson visit was constructive with little to no family controversy and…

For a long time, I thought I had my life planned out. I thought I knew where I wanted to go to school and live, I even thought I knew who I wanted to marry. I wanted to be a lawyer in the military and work my way up through the ranks to the office of Secretary of Defense, and that was it: no personal life or anything else. Once I got out of my parents’ house and started to live I realized all the things I thought I want or thought I was interested in; all those things were just things I was told to like or do. I tried to stay close to what my family wanted me to do, while trying to decide what I wanted to do with my life.…
