In his article, “Is it Ethical to Colonize Mars,” Brian Patrick Green argues the moral implications of colonizing mars. Green presents two sides of the argument. First, he discusses the ethicality of colonizing and contaminating the planet. He argues that there could be native microscopic life forms, and even though humans tend to kill these life forms on Earth, there may be a different moral standard for life on Mars. Next, Green presents the idea that he agrees with, that we should colonize Mars because something could happen to Earth. He provides solid reasons to support his case. He appeals to emotions and ethics. He uses multiple rhetorical devices to convince the reader of his opinion. But, the arguments best quality is that his argument makes the reader think about the possibility of colonizing Mars. Green puts the topic in a more realistic and personal perspective. This idea that people could live on another planet has always seemed far away and science fiction, but one day soon, it could become a reality. People need to do whatever they can to prepare for this
