Long ago (not too long ago), I used to write exclusively on the computer and the thought of picking up a pen and writing again was just not present. When I did write longhand it seemed to be cumbersome. It was fine for a grocery list but for anything substantial my wrist ached. At first it seemed so cumbersome. It seemed to take forever to get and idea out on to paper and I never was able to keep up with my thoughts. My penmanship was terrible too. My handwriting had atrophied. However, as I pressed on I found along with improving penmanship, a returning ability to organize my thoughts and funnel them on to paper. Its as if I was queuing ideas in my mind and letting them flow in sequence on to paper. While the actual speed of writing was slower, the content came out more organized. Once I let go of misspellings, I was able to just cross words off and move on. I began to remember what it was like in grade school, junior high and high school (even college) when the majority of my writing was in longhand. In short, my wrist did not break and my thoughts did make it to paper! That for me was exciting. To in one way slow down yet still be
