Work still maintains a central role in many men 's lives; the expectation for many boys and young men entering into adulthood is that they will get a stable job, with a living salary and be able to provide for a family. community, work place, university, sports) view the suitability of current preventative services to support ( young or older) men in that setting to seek help concerning their emotional well-being/ mental health?
• What needs to be done to facilitate more effective preventative working with (young or older) male in the specific setting?
Therefore for the researcher to achieve these objectives, there is a need to conduct in-depth interviews to uncover what interventions are already available for men, what need to be done and how do men access these services.
Design
The design that is going to be used in this research is a qualitative, cross sectional study. Qualitative method has been adopted to this study due to its appropriateness for gaining in-depth perspective on the topic of interest. The hypothetical perspective most often related with qualitative researchers is phenomenology (Bogdan and Biklen, 2004). Thematic analysis is considered to be a groundwork method for qualitative analysis as it pursues to discover and interprets many feature of a research. Qualitative study needs a good understanding of collecting diverse characteristics of data hence, thematic analysis do offers that opportunity to understand the complexity and extensiveness of data content (Marks and Yardley, 2004).
Thematic analysis is a process of recognising, analysing and reporting themes within the data (Braun and Clarke, 2006). Thematic analysis seek out to exhume the themes evident in the transcript at diverse stages (Attride-Stirling, 2001). Firstly all interviews will be recorded and transcribed. The researcher will then follow the process for data analysis which is; familiarising with data, initial coding, identifying themes, reviewing themes and defining and naming themes (Braun and Clarke, 2006).
Limitations
The limitation to this study will be the recruitment process because even though the leisure facilities, work-place universities and colleges provide services for men, however, few of them are qualified to be health trainers. The other potential weakness to this study is the validity of the of data collection, for the fact that the practitioners will be interviewed, chances are more likely that they will answers will be
