Many people believe that Huckleberry Finn is a racist book and many people think that it isn't racist book. Many believe it to be racist because it has Blacks being shown as stupid and not cared for. Also people believe that it isn't racist because of how people treat the blacks. The book The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, by Mark Twain, is about a child named Huck going through the country with his black slave Jim. They run into trouble here and there, but they always get through it fine. The book is both racist and not racist and, and I will tell you why.

In one article Is Huck Finn a Racist Book the author said “His target are simplistic religious beliefs moral hypocrisy(One Hundred Years Later). Many people hated this book back then and maybe even now because of it being racist ,but it isn't. Back then people didn't treat blacks with respect and those were the times. In the book Huck doesn't treat Jim with respect ,but huck really does care for Jim showing that not everyone is racist. All right ,then, I’ll go to Hell(Twain,207). This show that Huck has respect for Jim. Not many people respect the people of color.
I Believe Huck Finn is racist for many reason, People of color get treated like lower life forms and they are like property for most. In chapter 6 Pap is being very racist because he said “I drawed out. I never vote again(Twain 36). Pap is being racist by saying he will not vote for a black. Also an article said “like the overuse of the word, "nigger,"(Mori) Also the word nigger was used 219 time, that is one main reason why i and many believe the book is racist.
