“Is Google Making Us Stupid” written by Nicholas Carr, the author discusses how the internet has changed the way we think, read texts, and the way we process information (2008). In this article, the author stressed on the idea that we are living in a world where technology is controlling our life in a way or another and how it is losing someone’s ability to concentrate on large physical texts or regular literature (carr, 2008). He used quotations and research studies to support his point of view. Carr focused mainly on the internet and how it is affecting us negatively. Also, it was claimed that Google is making us stupid while we are using it in our daily life. I strongly disagree that internet is making us stupid.

I think people own the decision to give technology the ability to control them or not. Technology and internet were invented to make our life easy going instead of being complicated. For instance, communication is getting easier by using social media, such as Whatsapp and Facebook, between people from different states and countries. It broke the bridge between people that was formed before internet appeared. When it comes to the people, they are applying this invention in somehow a wrong way at which they are spending much time on it rather than going on with each other. For example, we can find two people using their laptops and watching television at the same time leaving their important tasks aside. Also waking hours is a good example to explain how people are extending their time on using their mobile phones and laptops although they should sleep approximately 7 hours to be in their good health.
