Is Golf A Sport? A sport is an activity involving physical exertion and skill in which an individual or team competes against another or others for entertainment. When we break down golf and take a moment to realize the actual definition of a sport you can obviously tell that golf is indeed a sport.

The U.S Supreme Court ruled that walking the course and carrying the clubs has no relation to the sport. Golfers on average burn about 360 calories per hour without a cart or caddie which is more calories against gymnasts who only burn 345 an hour.
