We live in a very tangled web of information and misinformation so the truth can be quiet confusing. We are constantly bombarded with hair raising, mind boggling topics such as global warming and it is hard to decide who’s wrong or right. However, amidst the debate “mitigation remains critical, we must also be thinking about and planning for ways to limit the adverse impacts from unavoidable changes in our climate,” according to The Center for Climate Energy Solutions (C2ES). The article went on to say that, “by taking steps now to adapt to climate change, we will be better able to limit future damages and their associated costs.” The C2ES has a valid argument and taking progressive steps towards adapting to the ever-present environmental changes is logical the opposing side seems to have a curious argument as well. Interestingly enough, “the number of skeptical, qualified scientists has been growing steadily; I would guess it is about 40% now,” said S. Fred Singer in an interview with the National Association of Scholars. Those words alone are enough to leave one stunned. The thought that, almost half of the legitimate scientist are questioning global climate change is alarming and

The Liberal Hoax Climate Change: A long-term change in the Earth’s climate, especially a change due to an increase in the average atmospheric temperature. It is largely due to the increasing amount of CO2 released into the atmosphere. Ever since the industrial revolution, it has been a rapidly growing issue. More recently, however, certain groups of people have begun to deny this scientifically proven phenomenon. In fact, in 2015, Donald Trump, who now is the President of the United States of America has stated, “I’m not a believer in man-made global warming.”…

Their team of researchers monitor a vast variety of media source presenting conservative information and reports any false facts, or misleading commentary. Some of these findings are published in blog form, whose content is reviewed by fellow investigators. The blog post, “Meet The Climate Denial Machine”, written by Jill Fitzsimmons looks closely at specific individuals who misconstrue information about climate change. Fitzsimmons highlights the backgrounds, or I should say lack thereof, of these so called individuals who are labeled experts. She also names the sources who present such content to the public on mass medium scales.…

Climate Change Climate change is one of the significant factors that have an impact on many of the Earth’s ecosystems, communities, and economies. Scientists have said that human activities are the leading cause of climate change and it should change that because if nothing changes now, it will continue to alter the environment that we depend on for survival. According to NASA, “human activities over the past 50 years have warmed our planet”. (NASA) Humans are a major cause in producing climate change by cutting down forests, burning of fossil fuels and driving.…

Not Hype,” Michael Lemonick discusses greenhouse gasses and their threats on the planet. Lemonick says “that climate is changing largely as a result of greenhouse gas emissions” (Lemonick). Proving greenhouse gas emissions is becoming very easy because it is beginning to hurt our planet more and more. “The Science Behind a Climate Headline” by Rachel Pike shows how hard it is to make a breakthrough in the scientific community. It is apparent that we should believe what is released to the press by scientists because it is reviewed by hundreds of…

Cold Comfort for “Global Warming” Philip Scott’s essay “Cold Comfort for Global Warming” talks about what he considers to be “myths” associated with global warming. His purpose is to convey that, changes in our environment and climate are not all due to global warming. Some are indeed just nature taking its course. He utilizes a sarcastic, yet direct tone in hopes to have readers think twice about the effects of “human induced global warming.”…

Imagine a barren wasteland, incapable of supporting the growth of any form of life and overpopulated with more people than it could sustain: this is the future of the earth. But, this is not just another scene from a sci-fi film of a population that has expedited their vital resources, but the reality for the “over 7 billion people” who populate the home we call earth (Hardaway 4). A considerable amount of blame is placed on global warming which is an “increase in the temperature of the lower atmosphere“; however, global warming has not garnered enough acceptance from some political officials and skeptics due to the term’s ambiguity (“global warming”). Global warming is often confused with climate change and although these terms sound alike…

Global warming is being caused by humans and something should be done about it. The reason global warming is so prevalent is because people do not know they are hurting the environment and some people do not believe it is real. There will be consequences to everyone if nothing is done about it. Around the world, less than half the people in the UK (43 percent), Germany (49 percent), and Norway (34 percent) believe that global warming is caused by civilization (Le Page).…

The subject of climate change has been hotly debated over the past decade. It is now obvious that the climate is changing and that it is more than likely going to cause problems in the future. The amount of carbon dioxide being released into the atmosphere has considerably increased since the Industrial Revolution. As fossil fuels such as coal, natural gas, and crude oil are burned, carbon dioxide is discharged into the atmosphere where it is trapped. This is called the greenhouse effect and although essential to the survival of all life on Earth, this process has gotten out of hand recently.…
