Healthy diet
Healthy eating means to have a balanced diet and is a diet which is heavily weighted towards good food while minimizing bad food. A balanced diet that is healthy and good means consuming from all the different food groups in the right quantities. While some may believe that having a healthy diet is not important in life, research proves otherwise. I agree that a healthy diet in someone’s life is of great and inestimable value. Because of that a healthy diet from the main food groups and proper exercise can help prevent one from most of the detrimental effect of poor mental and physical health, following a healthy diet should have been a priority in life.

What constitutes a healthy diet? Berkeleywellness.com presents us some keys to a healthy diet. 14 of them, which I can say really count after all research. According to the Berkely University of California, consume a variety of foods, keep an eyes portions and getting more or less of what our body need and what can destroy our health are the most important keys of a healthy diet. In the medical news today’s articles, after defining both a healthy eating and a healthy diet, Christian Nordqvist mentioned other important aspect, things like what we should eat and when to do so. He said that a large breakfast will help one’s health so much. Our choices of what to eat are crucial for our health. Things like fruits, legumes and vegetables are very important in our diet, there have high vitamin, mineral and also high in fiber. Another great source of fiber is whole grains that all sources touched. According to Nordqvist, one should take at least 3 ounces of whole grains per day, because they are rich in minerals, vitamins, and fibers. Fiber is indispensable for a healthy diet. According to the fitness.gov, “Unhealthy eating habits have contributed to the obesity epidemic in the United States: about one-third of U.S. adults (33.8%) are obese and approximately 17% (or 12.5 million) of children and adolescents aged 2—19 years are obese”. The US is a great example of a country with a high level of obesity, but it is all around the world. Wrong choices of what to eat and the eating at anything are the main reasons of obesity. As it has become easier day to day to obtain all kinds of prepared food in fast food restaurants or supermarkets, the amount of calories has increased. Not only the calories, but the diary, animal fats, trans fats, and more. Excessive intake of animal products are the leading cause of obesity, diabetes, heart problems, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, chronic disease and certain types of cancers in the United States, according to Nordqvist. And according to the fitness.gov, someone that looks healthy might not be that healthy they seems; and even for people at a healthy weight, a poor diet is associated with major health risks that can cause sickness and even death. We are talking now about death. There is lots of illness one’s can face after an unhealthy diet. These include heart disease, hypertension (high blood pressure), type 2 diabetes, osteoporosis, and certain types of cancer. By making smart food choices, you can help protect
