Nowadays, Standardized tests are used in many countries, and are also very common. Virginia has been proving SOLs to students for years now. A group of people believe they are useful.Then there is the other group of people that believe they are useful and they don 't benefit students at all. I 'm with that group also. So the real question is “Are SOLs improving students learning?” In high school, I always felt this anxiety/anxious feeling towards the end of the year because I knew SOLs were coming up. Teachers started preparing us students for it. I personally was always so nervous because my teachers always told me if I didn 't pass then I would have to retake the whole grade again or worse “ I wouldn 't be about to graduate”. That scared

That making the school 's accreditations go down. Educators felt that the accreditations were low because the standardized tests in math, english, and science were more complex. It wasn 't because the students getting less smart or because the school couldn 't teach. (Daily Press) Some people feel as if standardized testing is fair because everyone gets the same test with the same grading system. That can happen with tests that are made by your teacher in that certain class. Therefore, standardized testing does need to be around anymore. Students can still learn without them. The whole year of schooling you 're learning what your teacher taught you so it makes to take a test that he/she made for the final. It is less stress on students. In 2001 a law called No Child Left Behind was passed. The purpose of this was to “…improve the education system in the United States by holding school and teachers accountable and attempting to close the educational gap between minority and non-minority children in public schools”. In recent studies they saw students grades were declining which made the schools and teachers look bad.
