Is Dating A Thing Of The Past?
In today’s society many can’t say the phrases “we’re together, or we’re dating, etc” as much as it was said back then. Dating now is a thing of the past and hookup is the thing of the present in my opinion. Years ago to actually have a boyfriend or girlfriend it was easy, you just have to go on a couple dates and see if the person is the right one for you or if the are the perfect match for you. Now people have to go through a lot of phases and experiences before you two are actually dating or together, and sometimes the person is just trying to hook up with a person. So really dating is a thing of the past, and hookup is the present.
In the world today, there are no more “dates” and “dinners”, there is something call a hookup culture as the article states, “Blamed the much-documented rise of the (hookup culture) among young people, characterized by spontaneous, commitment free romantic fling.” There’s another way or phrase to summary the quote which is called, “Talking”. All people have to do is get on social media network/ websites and meet someone, and they probably may have never even really met them before. People also don’t sometimes want to meet the person they have been talking/dating on social media is because they are probably cheating on them with a person they know/see all the time. Most men are not romantic and like to do things that some women don’t like and they get turned-off by that really quick.
