As a student in the public education system for many years, one may dread the idea of suddenly having to pay to go to school even longer. One must weigh the value of getting a college education. Going to college is definitely worth it. A college education will make a student wealthier and lead a better life. To begin, a college education will make grads wealthier. According to the informational text, “New school year, old story: education pays”, the unemployment rate for “workers with a bachelor’s degree was about half that of those with no education beyond high school.” Which is, according to the graph that accompanied this article, 9.4%. Essentially, this graph shows the more education a student gets the less likely they will be unemployed. Moreover, according to the article “Actually, college is very much worth it” by Andrew J Rotherham, “the unemployment rate was 9.2 percent for those with only some college and more than 10 percent for those with just a high school degree, but it was just 5.4 for college graduates.” Even just going to college will lessen a person’s chances for

College has other benefits other than job training, it gives students the opportunity to make contacts in ways one cannot in high school. Of course, there are always stories of those who did not graduate college who became incredibly wealthy but “its also worth remembering that their companies are bursting with college graduates,” (Ketherham, 4). There are always geniuses with more knowledge and ambition than the rest, but for most people, the only way to be successful to go to
