Is Cloning okay in Science? Cloning has been going on since 1952. According to Clonaid, the first human clone (Eve) was created on December 27, 2002. By definition it is the number of different processes that can be used to produce genetically identical copies of a biological entity. This topic has become very controversial causing the world to become distraught. Later in 2005, the United Nations General Assembly prohibited all forms of human cloning with the Declaration on Human Cloning. From everything about this topic, cloning should not be supported of any kind because of ethics. There are numerous amounts of problems with cloning. There’s risk of death, faster aging, exploitation, and division among people. Even though there are risks with any procedure, cloning can really cause a commotion throughout the world. Particularly religious beliefs. In the Bible God created man so cloning would mean playing God, that man is becoming the creator, using technology to create the clones. According to the New York Times, Dr. Dominko said, “Your success cannot be 1 or 2 percent. A 2 percent success rate is not a success, it's a biological accident. Where's the other 98 percent? Show me them.'' Scientists have only reported their few successes not their many failures. It just goes to show that cloning is not reliable. Even when it works, no one knows why, it just does. Luck should not be the reason for cloning to work, there should be a certain process that works each time because scientists have no idea why it and how it works. Science experiments need to be able to be replicated and scientists haven’t figured that out yet with the concept of
