Is Cimorene Justified In Dealing With Dragons

In the satirical novel Dealing with Dragons by Patricia C Wrede, a Medieval princess named Cimorene is no ordinary medieval princess. She is an adventurous girl who runs away from her family and societal obligations. She's joined forces with a fierce and powerful dragon named Kazul. Cimorene is Justified in ignoring the social norms because she is not happy with her life at Linderwall, is Submissive to going to an unknown place from a toad, and she would rather be a princess dragon then marry Prince Therandill.
One reason that Cimorene was justified is because she was going against the normal classes required for a princess. On page 4 it talks about Cimorene complaining to her parents that a princess should be happy,”’It is utmost important to my life and happiness.’”This evidence shows that she wants to do her own stuff so she can live her life and have happiness. On page 6 She talks about therandil not having cared about her and not being Intelligent,”’He has no sense of humor, he isn't smart, he can take anything but the tones and half of what he says is wrong.’”This shows that she doesn't like the attitude of prince Therandil and would not want to marry him. This also shows that she can't pick which Prince she would want to wed. To sum it up, Cimorene is right about how she thinks therandil looks and his personality.
However, some may say that Cimorene Is not justified because she went to a dragon cave and think she'll be eaten rather than go live at Linderwall. On page 18, Cimorene talk to the dragon's about being there Maiden. “‘A princess volunteering, Out of the question.’”This quote explains that Cimorene is volunteering to be a dragon's maid while the normal princess will get captured by a dragon. Although some would say that she is not justified by going to the dragon's cave and volunteering, but actually if she didn’t go, she would have a more bird
