It is hard to simply agree or disagree that chivalry is dead. The answer to this question depends on every individual's personal experiences. For example, Population Reference Bureau states, “Seven in 10 children living with a single mother are poor or low income,” (Mather). The National Center for Fathering states, “teaching a boy chivalry lies in the responsibility of the father,” (Johnson). So one can conclude that boys growing up in low income societies are more likely to be raised without a father and as a result they are less often taught chivalry. The world is slowly approaching equality for all, chivalry is holding it back. Chivalry reflects the idea that women are weak and need a man’s support. “Let's Give Chivalry Another Chance” argues that being a lady and a women are the same concept and because of that men should treat us like ladies. This statement is false, we are taught to be ladies though society’s gender-role stereotypes but we are born women.
