1.Is Apple’s strategy evolving?
Yes. Apple started out a very small company just like any other. In its early years they were some of the leaders of innovation in their industry however, they were behind the competition in many of the early stages of their life. They were responsible for things such as the first color display, and the user-friendly graphical user interface. Apple followed a broad differentiation strategy. This allowed them to compete in a wider market of products while keeping loyal customers due to their variety of specialization of their products. Even with their media players Apple's key strategy was innovation. Their media players were more stylish, easier to use, and eventually dropped some in price, allowing them to completely take over the market making it nearly impossible for new entrants to be a threat. Apple set records with their release of the iPhone. Once again, their innovations did not stop. Within two years there was three different models of the iPhone released, each one being more powerful than the last. The only thing, in my opinion, that stopped Apple from completely dominating this market, just as they did in the media player market, was Google's release of the Android platform. It was comparable, and in some cases better than Apple's operating system. This allowed other companies such as HTC, Motorola, Acer, and Samsung to release smartphones to combat the iPhone. Both companies then moved into app development to generate additional revenue through purchases and advertisements.

3.What does a competitive strength assessment reveal about Apple’s computer business, as compared to the leaders in the personal computer industry?
As previously stated, a lot of Apple's strength comes from its research and development and innovation. In such a fast paced market like the personal electronics market, innovation is the key to success. It's the main way to achieve and maintain competitive advantage over your rivals.
