Throughout my life in Africa I have seen a lot of horrible situations that the poor were experiencing. I have seen for example, some people, who had no nearby source of safe drinking water, had to travel and carry their water a long way and even then, it wasn’t that clean, they had to boil the water so they wouldn’t get ill. Also I seen some people, who couldn’t save money, and if a family member fell sick, they had no money to pay to see a doctor, or if the crop failed and they had nothing to eat, they had to borrow money from the local moneylender that charges them so much interest and they can never be free of it. In addition, I have seen children who weren’t able to go to school because their parents didn’t have money to pay the tuition fees, or even if they were able to get some help from the government, they would have to walk a long way to …show more content…
In this side of the world most of the people are blessed yet still find ways to waste, even the poor are wasting because they have the government’s support. I have seen people buy clothes they will never wear, or food that would spoil in the refrigerator. I have also seen people who spend millions of dollars to buy cars or preferred to spend thousands of dollars in a single night at places like night clubs. In addition I have worked in a restaurant in Manhattan and every night we threw out more than a thousand pounds of food which was still good and edible.
