Is America A Nation Of Idiots

Decent Essays
So it is clear that although America is the land of the free, a freedom to do what each person desires, America is becoming a nation of idiots, run by idiots for two main reasons. First, people prefer to be ignorant. But more importantly, society is wasting it's time with unimportant achievements, which is leading to a broken country that is falling from its long held position as the greatest country in the world. In addition, if the foundations of this country is damaged the rest of the country is going to be defective. This defectiveness will make everything crumble down at any second. So, the area where it needs more work is in the leaders of this nation and their ways of decision making, which affects the citizens and their decision making.

America’s future vison is continually changing. It appears that regardless of the ideas one sets for America it is never followed through. George Washington, one of America’s first great leaders and presidents, warned the young nation not to allow factions, such as political parties and foreign affairs to take part in United States. My vison for America is that we once again regain a clean slate by paying off foreign debts, allow more advanced teachings in schools, and reducing waste and pollutants. The foreign debt America has gained, in today’s day and age, is the highest it has ever been.…

I had no knowledge that the nation was so split in its ideals. If a house divided cannot stand, we as a country have some serious problems on our hands. Based on the data given before, in one more generation or less, America will be as split as a butt crack and make assholes out of all of us. Right now, we could be on the brink of civil war, and the only way to avoid it is to open our minds to other truths and intelligently debate without bias. We have to step out of our situation and look at it from a new perspective, rather than wallowing in it and blaming anyone who disagrees for causing the mess.…

Throughout America’s history, there have been many presidents that changed the way this nation runs. Forty-four men have held this incredibly authoritative and respectable position. Perhaps three of the most memorable and influential presidents were George Washington, often referred to as the father of this country, Frederick Delano Roosevelt and Ronald Reagan. Actions that are made by presidents can be reflected across the world and often, in many cases, reflect in other countries, whether that be in a positive or negative way. Throughout each of their presidencies, these three iconic leaders were criticized and praised for their actions that ultimately paved the way for modern society and government.…

It was the summer of 1789 and the Constitutional Convention had just finished its debate on a new governing document, which would be imperfect but audacious for it’s time. As, he walked down the streets of Philadelphia that day, Dr. Benjamin Franklin was stopped by a woman, who asked, “Sir, what form of government have you bequeath us?” to which Dr. Franklin replied, “a Republic, if you can keep it.” 227 years later, through a fratricidal war, the stains of slavery and Jim Crow, two world wars, and countless financial crisis’, through both the highs and lows of the American story, I believe it safe to say that we have done exactly what Dr. Franklin implored us to do in so long ago in 1789. However, 2016 presented us with new challenges in what…

Are we the dumbest country on earth? Well, apparently we hold that tittle according to Michael Moore an Oscar winner who mentioned it in his “Idiot Nation” essay (124). Moore makes a clear and well defined point, which includes the reality of the United States citizen's and where they are heading, not just as individuals, but as a nation. To thrive, a nation needs a great foundation that holds and builds up each brick. However, if the foundation is damaged in losing its sight of the goal then, it will not be able to hold and build the greatest nation of this world.…

Todd Starnes, the author of “Americans agree with Trump: The illegal immigrants must go”, is the host of Fox News and Commentary and has recently written a book on the traditional values of America and how America has changed over time since the founding of the country. In the book, he talks about George Washington’s warnings, including staying away from foreign affairs which has caused problems in America today. When America started to get involved in foreign affairs in the early 20th century, immigrations had grown as many foreigners had come to America for better life quality and many other reasons and has since caused many issues that have stayed to this day. Todd Starnes explains how Donald Trump has now either influenced Americans or…

What does it mean to be an American? That is the question that many people ask, but do not know the real answer. Everyone will have their own opinion on what it means to be a true American. Some may say pride, some may say fearlessness, some may say determination, but to me the most important word that I could use to describe what it means to be an American is a family. We work so hard together as a nation to keep America going strong and become unstoppable.…

The US has had many downturns in its history, our forefathers built this country on the grounds that everyone was considered equal. But somehow, our nation skewed away from that idea. What it means to be an American The majority of Americans would say their country, United States of America, is the greatest country on the face of the planet. However, it wasn’t always like this. Many of the bravest leaders who have ever lived, our ancestors, took part in fighting for the privileges and freedoms we Americans receive today. These courageous men and women stood up against what was wrong, and fought for what was right.…

Recently the American presidency has crumbled. President Trump is “So ill-formed about the nature of his office, so openly mendacious, so self destructive, or so brazen in his abusive attacks on the courts, the press, congress, and even senior official within his own administration” says Jach Goldsmith. This shows that the control of the president and government is to a minimum because of all the worry that they have caused. America needs to turn back to conservative values, this nation has turned away from good values, the republican side of the election was the better side of the deal, neither parties candidates was a good choice, but Trumps values like no same sex marriage and no abortion are better. America is praised for being the land of the free, and the home of the brave. Everything America does is right and is what 's best for the world; when in reality it is what 's best for America. The United States has obtained the false image of being the best country in the world and has done terrifying, demoralizing actions to millions of people to get to where they are. America still to this day has laws and on going events that break the personal morals of the individual. From stealing land and resources from the Native Americans, to keeping African Americans as prisoner for slaves, the United States not only has a sinister past, but a horrifying future, if they continue down the path they are heading.…

America has been described as the greatest country in the world. In American classrooms students are taught that America is the pinnacle of freedom to the rest of the world. No other country in the world could ever be the democracy that America is. Despite this, there are many who would argue against the limits of how democratic the Unites States actually is. Public polls indicate that many Americans are unsatisfied with the American government.…

The writer’s intentions in this piece can be perceived as strong and well said through his level of certainty in the knowledge he had of how badly the American people had fallen. The suffered a moral and ethical fall due to them becoming the aggressor, after they had suffered and knew so much pain from their experience being under the rule of Great Britain. As a result of what happened to them they created a system of values that afforded rights to those who needed them and by taking control of other countries in a way that paralleled what they had gone through, it appeared as though they had forgotten what the constitution truly stood for. This behavior goes to show how little things have changed as people have and continue to be human and make the exact same mistakes they have always…

1984 Conformity in America America: land of the free, right? Well, maybe not. 1984 portrays a totalitaristic society that seems far from the world we live in today, at first glance. But at a closer look, there are many chilling parallels between these two universes which are typically thought to be opposites. Of course, there are resemblances in surveillance and maybe even propaganda, but we generally do not believe conformance exists in our society.…
