Is Alexander The Great A Good Leader?

Many people have many different opinions on different people. One person that fits under this category is Alexander the Great. Some people think that he was not a good ruler and others believe that Alexander the Great was a great leader. Based on the documents, Alexander the Great was a great leader because he is prepared, genuine, and was fair to his people. To start, Alexander the Great was known to be prepared. If something ever changed, he knew what to do. For example, in The Campaigns of Alexander, Alexander the Great had a problem. He identified the problem and solved it. The problem was, “He realized that he could not cross at the point where Porus was encamped - his elephants were too numerous… When Alexander saw this, he [decided to] move his troops in all different directions so that Porus would keep puzzled…” (Arrianus 1). Alexander the Great knew that Porus was encamped at a certain point and came up with a different plan. He thought to spread out his troops in all different directions to puzzle Porus. This is showing good leadership because Alexander the Great was able to completely change his plan and still become successful. All in all, Alexander the Great is prepared and a great leader.
