Abortions Among Americans-Right or Wrong? Aborting a fetus before 24 weeks of pregnancy is becoming the new “Norm” among women in the United States. About 1.1 million women abort their child every year for multiple different reasons. Statistics shows an average 19 year old girl may abort her child for the following reasons: already have a child, no stability, no income or they’re still in school. On the other hand, your average 27 year old women would abort their child for the following reasons: new relationship and their not ready for a child, no job, low-income, student debt or no support. In this case, 22% of all pregnancies in the U.S. ends in abortions, which is very sad and heart breaking. Although, aborting an innocent baby may be wrong, everyone has their reasons and just wants to do what’s best for them and their unborn child. At the time, she was having troubles with the child’s father, which made her believe abortion was the way to go. Kadaja already had two kids and a third one just wasn’t an option for her. When she asked me what did I believe would be best, I told her it would be selfish to abort a child when it’s someone in the world that can’t even bare a child. After our talk, she believed she wouldn’t be emotionally prepared to watch them abort her child. Adoption soon became apart of the discussion and she thought that would be in the best interest of the baby. Through all the doubts, she still gave birth to her baby boy and is raising him on her own with her other children. She has two jobs, free daycare and her own place, and yet still manages to take good care of all three of her beautiful children.
