Is Abortion Moral? Abortion in the United States is among the most debated and controversial issues today. According to oxford dictionary, “abortion is the termination of a human pregnancy, most often implemented during the first twenty-eight weeks”. Among the midst of this controversy, the nation is split between two groups, known as pro-choice and pro-life. Pro-choice advocates, also known as Democrats, contend that selecting abortion should be a woman’s right and not restricted by governmental authority. However, advocates of pro-life, also known as republicans, contend that life begins at conception, and therefore an innocent human being is immorally killed during abortion. A child does no respond to circumstances or appear the same way he or she will when they mature. As the child matures and develops, they become more intellectual, taller, stronger, etc. due to the fact that they are alive.
