Irony: The Definition Of A Hero

Decent Essays
A hero is defined in many ways. Some people see heroes differently. Some people don’t even see heroes as “heroes”. The definition of a hero to me, is someone who risks their life for someone they don’t even know. That is what true bravery is. It is something that not everyone can contribute.
Soldiers go through terrorizing training at the beginning of their career, just to defend what they love. They often go through deployments, which involve violence, and being away from home for an indefinitely long period of time, in or out of the county. Many people do not know, but soldiers and their families struggle with the consequences that come with this lifestyle, including very little pay, and the hardships they go through.

Hero’s are everyday people that have done something for the greater good. A hero is a person who has gone out of their way to help or save something or someone from danger. The Merriam Webster Dictionary defines a hero as, a person, typically a man who is admired for having courage or having outstanding achievements (Merriam-Webster). In my opinion this book definition is wrong, because heroes aren’t just men. Heroes can range from being a small town sports team that just won a state championship or soldiers who saved a community from a terrorist group.…
