Alicia Ramirez is a teenager with life challenges. The bakery Alicia’s father owned had very bad sales due to a new coffee shop across the street. Alicia enters a bake off with the owner of the coffee shops son. Dane wins the the bake off which lead to the closing of Alicia’s bakery. After Dane finds out he didn't really win he gave Alicia the cash prize which was enough money for the bakery to stay open. The story didn't keep me to involved. The author used a good amount of details while describing his characters. The texts shows, “The rest of Gwen's hair is honey-colored, but she’d used lemon juice and good ol’ California sunshine to lighten the braid to a golden blond.” The plot moved slow, just because the chapters didn't leave off on
