In the beginning the Giant only knew how to eat metal, which almost resulted with the Giant being electrocuted. Then after befriending Hogarth the Giant starts to learn. The Giant tries to eat the train track but Hogarth stops him and makes him put it back. The Giant tries to make it perfect and gets hit by the train. As time passes on he learns art from Dean and is able to create art. The Giant in the beginning tried to make train tracts prefect since mechanical objects are usually put in a specific way, and as time went on he was able to learn that asymmetry existed with helping Dean with his art projects. The Giant also learns from Hogarth that he is the ultimate one to choose whether he is the good or the bad. Even though the Giant was seen as a threatening existence to the town the Giant is able to show that he is different by sacrificing himself to save the town from being hit by the …show more content…
And then the Giant who is able to learn from Hogarth how to belong in the foreign world, he is able to mature into a robot who can make the right decision for himself. Concluding to the Iron Giant becoming a hero figure for his friend
