“I am the master of my fate, I am the captain of my soul” (Henley), the concluding line from W.E Henley’s poem “Invictus” summarizes a concept that strongly resonates with me. I wholeheartedly concur with the idea that we as human beings; in any situation, have full control over the outcome of our lives. For example, though we may fall into the clutches of difficult situations; that are out of our hands, we still have total control over our reactions. We can either crack under the pressure or stand up and overcome the slight bump in the road. The choice that we choose to make in these types of situations, will guide us towards our fate and either nourish or diminish our soul.
