Mandela once said,”A winner is a dreamer who never gives up.” I watched the movie Nelson Mandela .After viewing the film Invictus and researching the true historical people and events, it is evident that the movie is more history than hollywood.
During Nelson’s childhood, the white population increased in South Africa. This was because the discovery of gold and diamonds which started changing the country. Blacks were treated way differently than whites back then. Mandela knew he had to change things when he became president. Mandela the ANC are working for a more free South Africa, the government is making stricter apartheid laws. The ANC and Mandela becomes more defendant in their fight for freedom.Mandela starts practicing laws but is banned from many things. He was arrested for treason, but later found not guilty. After he was found to be involved in secret activity which was letters he was convicted and receiving life in prison. Mandela spent 27 years of his life in prison missing his childrens childhood. While he was in prison he got invited to a escape plan, but did not take it. Outside of prison Africans are fighting for his freedom some with violence.
