I called Officer Mills and she informed me that at approximately 12:15 AM, a male, wearing a white long sleeve shirt with a black short sleeve t-shirt on over it, and a black mask, armed with a black handgun, came into the store demanding money. The armed suspect made it out of the store with approximately $280-$300 from the cash register.
A witness, Claude Hayes, who was in the parking lot of the Kum & Go followed the suspect to a vehicle parked in the Phoenix Village Apartment Complex, where the suspect got into the passenger side of an old Honda Accord. The witness was able to get a partial tag off of the suspect’s getaway car. The partial tag numbers received were “754”.
I advised I would be en route to Officer Mills location. Once on scene I watched the surveillance footage of the incident. From past experience when working any incidents that occur at any of the Kum & Go locations and talking with the employees, I know that I have to submit a request to corporate to receive a DVD copy of the surveillance footage. I submitted a request for the footage.
