Inverted Quarantine means being different, and isolating yourself from something threatening, like something toxic. That is what we will be discussing. Andrew Szasz, the author of “ The Future of Illusion” wrote this to explain how we can help the world from pollution or oil consumption. Some may wonder “I am just one person, I wouldn’t be able to change the world.” Who is to say you aren’t able too? When people use inverted quarantine, people tend to discourage themselves to help. People that use inverted quarantine as a response, tend to doubt themselves because they decide to isolate from everything by themselves. Szasz says that if we refuse inverted quarantine, it can come with real solutions to problems. “If we examine those instances when society refused the mass inverted quarantine, option, we quickly come to see that refusal opens the way to real solutions, to substantial reforms that leave conditions far better than they would have been otherwise.” (Szasz 224) We can relate this to what we talked before about environmental problems. Oil consumption is obviously a ecological problem. Refusing inverted quarantine can be seen as being cowardly, simply because you are putting yourself away from the problem. Many people can see it as, being safe, and just letting things the way it should be. Szasz obviously does not like that, and wants to people to be different, and help the earth. Yes, obviously everyone knows that everyone chooses how they want to live. Which I personally believe in too. But, we all have to consider that we all aren’t in this world for no reason. We as people, have to protect it, and be open minded to the situations that is going around the world. Andrew Szasz knows the problems around the world like, bombs, and farming chemicals can cause problems in the earth, that we cannot see. Although you might not see any difference in the world, you can feel it. As climate change is happening, and it started to take a toll on people. Antarctica is starting to see less ice around the continent, and every state is starting to feel weird climate changes throughout the year. The earth is in danger as we speak, but many people do not realize what is going on. There is many different ways that the earth can be affected by. Obviously, not everyone is going to commit to helping the environment. But, we can reduce the situation, and help the environment little by little. Choosing the inverted quarantine as a response can eventually hurt you, and people around you. Society is so stuck in doing their own things. Yes, driving cars with gas, and oils can be the easiest way to get around places. Oil is good resource for people to help them in may other machines, and keeps people jobs in gas stations.
