There were two of William Blake’s illustration that I found interesting as I have never seen something like it before. Blake writes and illustrates his own poems. Both illustrations seen here incorporate the poems within them and in a way interact with the text. One can notice that these simple illustrations only use four colours which are red, yellow, blue and green. Watercolours were the medium used to paint the wonderful illustrations surrounding the poems. In his work this artist plays around with shapes to create interesting forms, figures and environments. The twittering machine is a work of art made with watercolour and pen and ink. There appears to be four bird like figures. The birds all look different but their individuality is shown from the black lines and shapes being projected out from their beaks which most probably represent visually what they sound like.They are standing on top of what looks like some kind of machinery. It looks like a jack in the box mechanism. If you turn the hand crank around the birds will start to sing and that's what is happening here. Paul klee had a series of prints which he called “Inventions”. One of these prints was called “The Hero with the Wing”. It features a nearly naked man with a wing instead of one of his arms. The concept behind this wing and the limbs in the supports is shown in the caption on the bottom right corner. Klee writes "Because this man was born with one wing, he believed he could fly. His attempts, of course, have only resulted in crashes and a broken left arm and leg." This could have represented the struggle of artists like him who were insulted because of their art did not conform with traditional aesthetic ideals and strict social morals of the
