Here it was a successful planned developmental and continuous change which was event driven. After approval in January of 1997, Intuit successfully launched “Quicken Mortgage” after 10 months in November same year along with new version of “Quicken 98” which was highest-selling consumer software and also introduced revolutionary all-purpose, one-stop website named “Quicken.com”. The dominant factor for Intuit’s success during the change process was their ability to roll-out pristine financial software according to costumers comfort levels. Cofounder Scott Cook regularly emphasized that their customers are the market representative and major revenue generators for the organization. Secondly during Intuit’s weak times when its stock prices were tumbling down, Scott Cook took the risk of building a new web-based business with available internal resources and trusted expertise of Carl Reese (Vice President of Intuit’s Tax Group) along with Alison Berkley (Associate Product Manager). This very risk taking approach launched by Scott Cook was acknowledged by the entire organization which led them to successful market position. …show more content…
They executed two realistic practices namely “Follow Me Home” and “Usability Lab” which supported their customer requirements agenda. Took advantage of the intuit brand value, pursued financial lenders and commercial banks who readily joined hands with Intuit. This collaboration strengthen the launch of “Quicken Mortgage” and “Quicken.com” which can be proved by figures they achieve immediately after launch with 100 customers eligible for loans and Almost 1000 website hits recorded on very first day.
