Being in this class I have learned more in this field. Earlier coming into this class I had trouble comprehending what authors were saying in their articles. When given articles in class by you, I highlight keywords/phrases, look up words I am unsure about, and re-read the article if necessary. Having this skill now has made writing and reading much easier. Prior to, I would have trouble taking the author 's words and putting them into my own. The analysis for article worksheets have helped me tremendously. With the article, “Shitty First Drafts” being a new assignment to us, I beat up the part “list in your own words three main parts.” Now, with learning and taking my skills on annotation, I am able to perfect this part like shown in the article,“Winning Son Of A Dedicated Loser.” I have learned a lot this semester. From introductions, annotations, and creating those perfect essays. With writing the college essays, I always paced myself and went draft to draft instead of trying to make my first one perfect. That is another thing I learned. Your first draft is meant to be horrific. A college essay I think should include: a hook, complete thoughts, specific details, and the big picture/thesis. What intimidated me was the fact I am on my own now and the work will just get harder and harder. This course has helped me more with my writing techniques and to better understand my writing as a whole. I can take the things I have learned here and use them towards my next college writing classes. I will miss the most the relationship you and I have built along the way and also your advice. My attitude and ability towards writing has defiantly changed for the better. I always have enjoyed writing and am glad I have learned specific things from this
