The power and authority of Scripture is apparent throughout the Bible. Jesus, and then the New Testament authors all reference back to Old Testament Scriptures to prove that Jesus is the Messiah. Paul explain in Romans 10:17 that “Faith comes from hearing, and hearing by the Word of Christ.” (NASB) We come to faith in Jesus by having our ears opened to hearing the Word of God. “The Holy Scripture brings us God’s presence and leads us to understand the written revelation.” (Summary of the Doctrine of Holy Scripture.
