Emotional cutoff entails a complete or almost-complete separation from the family. The person has little or no contact with the family and feel completely independent from the family. This person is different from a solid self because they’re unable to engage in activity that have intrinsic values, unable to live a productive life and find life meaningful and fulfilling.
